MobiDig, a mobile e-inclusion solution that comes to you

MobiDig stimulates and supports existing social organisations in providing digital skills lessons to hard to reach people, such as the homeless, vulnerable youngsters or elderly people.

A handy mobile toolkit has been developed for this purpose, for social organisations to use when they go to the locations  where their target groups are based. It consists of  refurbished tablets, smartphones, modems, an internet connection and charging facilities.

MobiDig is also to launch an inspirational guide so that other organisations can start working on digital skills on a location-oriented basis as efficiently and easily as possible. In addition, the organisations are given support to make the learning experience on site as stimulating as they can. A challenge-reward app is being developed for this, which will increase the motivation of the target group.

MobiDig projects

The basic concept was created in 2021 together with the social organisations Hobo and Link in de Kabel. The mobile solution is being further developed and tested throughout 2022. During a second pilot phase, in addition to Hobo and Link in de Kabel, Digidak, Interface3Namur and Le Monde des Possibles will also be working with MobiDig at various locations. Tree Company will be responsible for the further development of the digital learning app. As of 2023, MobiDig will be available for use by multiple organisations.

BNP Paribas Fortis, CTG Circular, Proximus and VRT constitute the core group around this initiative.
